Closures
Closures in the form of shields or seals are used to:
myonic standard covers, type “V, Z, X”
myonic manufactures high-precision closures stamped from stainless steel material. These closures do not contact the rotating bearing part and provide basic protection against external contamination.
This ensures that neither the frictional torque, noise development nor the operating temperature of the ball bearing increases.
This type of closure does not guarantee complete protection against external contamination from dust or the ingress of liquids.
Our standard closures are identified by one of the following letters: “V”, “Z”, “X”.
Depending on the requirements of the application, we can supply either permanently mounted or removable covers.
Filmoseal from myonic, a non-contact seal, type “F”
This is a capillary seal with the known as “Filmoseal”, which was designed exclusively by myonic and is marked with the code letter “F” after the bearing type and before the size specification.
myonic developed “Filmoseal” to combine the advantages of a contactless cover with the practical effect of a seal through the capillary effect of an oil film. This is achieved by the sophisticated design of the shields and the special groove in the ball bearing inner ring.
This design increases the circulation of the lubricant within the ball bearing, reduces lubricant loss, and significantly reduces external contamination.
The use of an oil impenetrable PTFE seal in the outer ball bearing ring also helps to prevent lubricant loss. This non-contact seal is recommended in cases where high speeds or protection against contamination are required or if the ball bearing is exposed to high centrifugal forces.
“Filmoseal” from myonic is particularly effective with a rotating outer ball bearing ring, as the hermetic seal between the cover washer and the outer ball bearing ring prevents any loss of lubricant without increasing friction, noise or temperature.
Special seals from myonic
myonic develops special seals and closures that meet the highest customer requirements.
